Why commit to the SJVVPS?
When we think about it, the Church and the world would not be the same without priests. It is the priest that welcomes us into the loving embrace of God at baptism. The priest nourishes us with God’s Word in his preaching and teaching and with God’s Life through the Eucharist. The priest offers God’s forgiveness in sacramental absolution and God’s healing in the anointing of the sick. The priest brings the soul home to God at the end of life’s journey. WE NEED GOOD PRIESTS!
As a member of this prayer apostolate, you show your gratitude to God for the good priests that have brought blessing into your life and you act on your concern that there be priests to serve future generations of Catholics and non-Catholics alike here in the Archdiocese of Hartford. Priests don’t grow on trees or drop out of the sky—they must come from our own families and parishes. So join us in praying to the Master of the Harvest for more laborers—faithful priests, deacons, and men and women in consecrated life.
As a member of the society, you will be invited to Holy Hours, Ordination Events, and a special Day of Recollection with our seminarians. You will also share in the spiritual fruits of the society and the Vocation Director of the Archdiocese will offer a monthly Mass for you, your family, and all your prayer intentions. Please, join us today!
